Essential oils have become increasingly popular and there is often confusion with how to safely and properly use them.
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential plant oils applied in a controlled manner to improve the health and balance of the skin, body, mind and emotions.
Essential oils are the life force of the plant and may come from trees, flowers, shrubs, grasses, fruits and herbs. Essential oils can be used to reduce inflammation, spasm, and pain as well as promote circulation and digestion.
In massage, certain oils may be used to assist in treating conditions such as headaches, stress, muscle soreness, and arthritis.
I have enjoyed using essential oils in treatments after completing an aromatherapy course.
